The Focus of Hyperight in May 2026

May has been a landmark month for Hyperight AB. It marked the hosting of the monumental 11th edition of the Data Innovation Summit – the leading and most influential event for applied data, analytics, and AI in the Nordics and beyond. Bringing the global data community together to discuss real-world AI implementation was nothing short of extraordinary.

This year’s edition didn’t just follow the trends – it set them, driving the global data community past the phase of AI experimentation and straight into the era of industrialized, production-ready innovation. Over three action-packed days, the summit featured:

  • 3,000+ delegates connecting and shaping the future of the data ecosystem.
  • Over 300 Nordic and international speakers sharing front-line insights and strategic grit.
  • 15 dedicated stages and 7 workshop rooms tackling everything from Agentic AI to modern data architecture, including high-intensity crash courses and deep-dive masterclasses like Joe Reis’s Data Modeling in the Age of AI.
  • 200+ Technology Innovation Product (TIP) sessions showcasing live demos and cutting-edge enterprise solutions.
Mixed Model Arts: Data Modeling in the Age of AI – Master Class with Joe Reis, Best-selling author of Fundamentals of Data Engineering (O’Reilly)

For the first time in the summit’s history, Hyperight AB expanded the program to include a dedicated third day: Industry Day. While the Foundation Days established the technical and strategic framework, Industry Day shifted the spotlight entirely to sector-specific application.

Across 5 specialized stages, industry titans and enterprise practitioners converged to tackle real-world AI integration, sharing proven case studies across critical verticals:

  • Public Sector, Healthcare & Education Stage
  • Finance, Telecom & Digital Services Stage
  • Manufacturing, Energy & Utilities Stage
  • Retail, E-commerce & Logistics Stage
  • Gaming, Media & Entertainment Stage

Moving from Theory to Robotics: The DIS Hackathon

Innovation at the summit isn’t just discussed-it’s built. This year featured a high-intensity, hands-on Data Innovation Summit Hackathon – sponsored by HP and NVIDIA – designed specifically for developers and engineers ready to put cutting-edge architecture to the test under real-world pressure.

In a strict two-hour window, competing teams were handed two high-performance machines to design, build, and deploy an operational AI agent capable of controlling a physical robot system. This challenge pushed participants past standard code generation and forced them to grapple with model size, real-time performance, and physical hardware constraints.

After an intense, high-energy competition Team Just Build took the win and walked away with the powerful HP ZGX Nano AI Station.

Celebrating Excellence: The 5th Annual DAIR Awards Move to the Main Stage

While our hackathon winners proved what can be built in just two hours, the DAIR (Data and AI Readiness) Awards took over the main stage to honor the long-term strategic success stories across the Nordic region. Traditionally celebrated as a standalone gala, this 5th edition marked a brand-new chapter as the awards were fully integrated into the flagship Data Innovation Summit program, placing the region’s most transformative success stories directly in front of our entire community.

The DAIR Awards recognize organizations that lead the way in using data, analytics, and AI to drive measurable business and societal impact. Focused on organizational achievements, the awards highlight companies that demonstrate strategic vision, innovation, and true maturity in their practices-honoring execution and real-world results over mere hype.

These are the official 2026 Nordic DAIR Awards champions who are setting the benchmark for scaled enterprise impact across the region:

  • Data and AI Transformation Excellence Award: Skatteetaten (The Norwegian Tax Administration)
  • AI-Driven Business Excellence Award (Private Sector): Nordea
  • AI-Driven Business Excellence Award (Public Sector): The Norwegian Public Roads Administration (Statens vegvesen)
  • Data Management Innovation Award: PostNord Group
  • Technical AI Innovation of the Year: Saab AB
  • Lifetime Achievement in AI: Virginia Dignum (Director of the AI Policy Lab and Professor at Umeå University)

Next months will be sharing the full extension of their accomplishments, the work and their product.

Looking Ahead: The Journey Continues

The close of the Data Innovation Summit doesn’t mean the conversation stops. The energy, connections, and insights generated in Stockholm have set the agenda for the rest of the year.

After three full days of deep dives with 300+ speakers across 15 stages, heated panels, and breakthrough keynotes at the Data Innovation Summit, we’re stepping off the stages to find out: what actually stuck?
While in Stockholm, we asked some of the moderators to go beyond the slides-exploring the recurring trends, the genuine surprises, and the “hottest” topics that set the rooms on fire.
In the video you’ll go behind the scenes for an exclusive debrief on the core shifts shaping the future of AI and data as the experts distil three days of high-intensity learning into the key themes that emerged.
