Stockholm-based startup Strawberry announced the launch of its “self-driving” AI-powered browser in open beta, making the platform available to the general public after a year of closed testing. Unlike traditional browsers that simply display websites, Strawberry features built-in autonomous AI agents capable of surfing, clicking, and performing multi-step tasks on behalf of the user, including navigating login-protected sites and internal dashboards.
Founded by Charles Maddock, Arian Hanifi and Sebastian Thunman, the browser is specifically designed for roles such as sales, recruiting and operations, where users often spend hours on repetitive manual work. To lower the barrier to entry, Strawberry features a personalized onboarding process that maps a user’s specific role and suggests relevant automated tasks, such as sourcing leads on LinkedIn, updating CRMs like HubSpot, or drafting follow-up emails in Gmail.
While Strawberry is free to download and try, access to the full suite of “AI Companions” and high-volume automation functionality is also offered as a premium service. The company, which recently secured $6 million in seed funding from investors including General Catalyst and EQT Ventures, plans to use this public beta phase to refine its agentic capabilities and expand its library of specialized task assistants.
