Atlassian has acquired the Toronto-based data cataloging startup Secoda for an undisclosed amount, with the aim of bolstering its enterprise Artificial Intelligence capabilities. Secoda’s platform, which is driven by AI, specializes in automating the discovery, documentation, and governance of an organization’s structured data assets.
The acquisition is intended to integrate Secoda’s expertise into Atlassian’s Rovo AI platform, enhancing Rovo’s ability to access and understand complex data across hybrid environments. This move is designed to make data insights more accessible to non-technical employees, allowing teams to find and utilize information directly within their existing Atlassian tools. The combined technology supports the development of sophisticated AI agents that can operate with full context across both human workflows and underlying data sources.
