AWS Introduces New Autonomous AI Agents

At AWS re: Invent, Amazon Web Services’ flagship annual cloud conference, the company unveiled a new class of autonomous “frontier agents” designed to transform the software development lifecycle.

The three agents – Kiro, AWS Security Agent, and AWS DevOps Agent – can operate independently for extended periods and support development, security, and operations across AWS, multicloud, and hybrid environments.

Kiro automates software development tasks, the Security Agent helps build secure-by-design applications, and the DevOps Agent reduces alert fatigue through continuous incident triage and performance recommendations. AWS says the agents are built to function as extensions of engineering teams, improving speed, reliability, and overall productivity.
