Spotify has announced the expansion of its “Prompted Playlist” feature to Premium subscribers in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and Sweden. Currently in beta, the tool allows listeners to generate custom music collections by entering natural language descriptions, and it ranges from specific moods and activities to niche cultural references.
Prompted Playlist utilizes a user’s entire listening history combined with real-time music trends to build a personalized selection, as explained in their announcement. The feature generates selections by cross-referencing a user’s listening history with current music trends. Users can access the tool via a “Create” button to enter English-language prompts, with the system providing a brief explanation for each track’s inclusion. The interface also supports follow-up instructions for refining the results and includes an option for daily or weekly automated refreshes.
