The American tech company Microsoft Corp. and French AI startup Mistral announced an expansion of their strategic partnership on Tuesday, aimed at delivering advanced artificial intelligence capabilities to enterprises and regulated industries across Europe and globally. Under the new multibillion-dollar agreement, Microsoft will leverage Mistral’s expanding European GPU infrastructure, powered by NVIDIA Vera Rubin systems, to boost AI compute capacity across the region.
In the announcement, they share that as part of the technical integration, Mistral’s latest models have been integrated into Microsoft Foundry, with Medium 3.5 also added to Microsoft Copilot Studio. The expanded collaboration enables organizations in sectors such as healthcare, finance, and manufacturing to deploy Mistral’s models across public cloud, cloud-connected, and fully disconnected environments via Azure and Azure Local to satisfy strict data sovereignty, privacy, and operational resilience requirements.
The joint initiative combines Mistral’s open and efficient model architectures with Microsoft’s enterprise security and sovereign cloud capabilities.
