Apple Reaches Settlement Over Claims of Misleading AI Advertising

Apple, an American technology company, has agreed to a $250 million (around €213 million) settlement to resolve a class-action lawsuit accusing the tech giant of misleading consumers regarding the capabilities of its “Apple Intelligence” features. The settlement, filed in a California federal court, addresses claims that Apple engaged in false advertising by promoting AI enhancements and an improved Siri assistant that were either delayed or nonexistent at the time of purchase.

The lawsuit alleged that Apple’s marketing campaign was a deceptive effort to compete with AI leaders like OpenAI and Anthropic, claiming the company promoted “breakthrough” features that lawyers argue may not fully materialize for years.

Under the terms of the deal, eligible U.S. consumers who purchased an iPhone 15 or iPhone 16 between June 2024 and March 2025 are entitled to payments ranging from $25 to $95. While Apple denies any wrongdoing, the company stated it settled the matter to maintain focus on product innovation.
