Samsung Electronics, a multinational appliance and consumer electronics corporation, has announced an expansion of its Galaxy AI platform, transitioning toward an integrated “multi-agent ecosystem”. Including Google’s Gemini, a revamped Bixby, and now Perplexity, allows users to utilize multiple specialized AI assistants directly at the operating system level rather than as isolated applications.
The update is supported by Samsung’s internal research, which indicates that nearly 80% of users currently rely on more than two different AI tools for daily tasks. By integrating these agents into the device framework, Samsung intends for Galaxy AI to function as an orchestrator, enabling smoother transitions between complex, multi-step workflows across native apps like Notes, Gallery, and Calendar.
Perplexity will be introduced as a system-level agent on upcoming flagship devices, accessible via a new voice wake phrase, “Hey Plex”, or physical side-button controls. The multi-agent approach is designed to provide greater flexibility and reduce the need for manual app-switching.
