NVIDIA’s Rubin Platform Powers New $1B Lilly Drug Discovery Lab

NVIDIA and Eli Lilly have unveiled a landmark $1 billion co-innovation lab in the San Francisco Bay Area, marking a massive strategic investment into the future of AI-driven drug discovery. Eli Lilly is a medicine company, and by co-locating world-class AI engineers with veteran medical researchers, the facility aims to solve the industry’s hardest biological challenges using the NVIDIA BioNeMo platform and the upcoming Vera Rubin architecture

The lab is set to pioneer a 24/7 continuous learning loop where autonomous AI agents design and monitor experiments in real-time, effectively bridging the gap between computational modeling and physical lab work.

This ambitious five-year initiative also extends into “physical AI,” utilizing robotics and digital twins to scale production and ensure that life-changing medicines move from the virtual design stage to global patients with unprecedented speed and precision.
