Google and TotalEnergies have signed a 21-year Power Purchase Agreement to supply 1 Terawatt-hour of renewable energy to Google’s upcoming $2 billion data center in Selangor, Malaysia.
The electricity will be generated by the Citra Energies solar plant in Kedah, a joint venture between TotalEnergies and local partner MK Land. Construction is slated to begin in early 2026, with the agreement taking effect in the first quarter of the year.
This partnership supports Google’s goal to operate on 24/7 carbon-free energy by 2030 and utilizes Malaysia’s Corporate Green Power Programme to add new renewable capacity directly to the national grid.
