CM com, AI-powered platform that helps customers use their customers’ products through AI Agents, unified data, and real-time communication, and AI infrastructure developer VOLT have announced a strategic partnership to build a sovereign AI environment tailored for highly regulated industries, aiming to bolster Europe’s digital independence. Their collaboration is designed to provide banks, insurers, government agencies, and healthcare institutions with modern IT solutions that guarantee data stays within European borders and under local control.
Jeroen van Glabbeek, CEO of CM com, noted that the initiative addresses a critical gap for organizations that want to innovate rapidly but are currently restricted by sovereignty requirements or dependence on foreign technology. Inspired by sovereign cloud models like Germany’s Delos Cloud, the new environment focuses on maximum energy efficiency and security.
The partnership integrates CM com’s AI application platform with VOLT’s specialized AI data centers, which include a high-performance GPU infrastructure and a planned “AI Gigafactory” in Rotterdam. By combining these hardware and software layers, the two companies aim to offer a fully-fledged European alternative to global cloud providers, enabling organizations to develop and scale AI models in full compliance with GDPR and emerging European regulations.
The first suite of sovereign AI services is scheduled to become available later this year, providing a secure “end-to-end” fabric for the continent’s most sensitive data sectors.
