atNorth Expansion in Kista to Bolster Stockholm’s Power Grid and Circular Economy

Nordic data center provider atNorth has announced plans to build SWE02, a new 30MW facility in Stockholm. Scheduled to go live at the end of 2027, the site marks the company’s eleventh Nordic campus and will be located near its existing SWE01 facility in Kista to bolster redundancy and workload resilience.

According to their announcement, the project emphasizes a circular economy through a partnership with Stockholm Exergi – energy provider, utilizing heat reuse technology to recycle excess energy back into the local community. To support the expansion, network provider Ellevio will construct a new electrical substation, improving the regional power grid’s overall stability.

CEO Eyjólfur Magnús Kristinsson stated that the expansion meets a rising demand for high-performance infrastructure that prioritizes energy efficiency and long-term community impact.

This development follows a period of rapid growth for atNorth, which includes active projects in Finland and Denmark, and the securing of land for a future mega-site in Sollefteå, Sweden.
