From Data Lakes to AI Agents: Databricks Raises $4B as Revenue Surges 55%

Databricks announced a major Series L funding round of over $4 billion on December 16, 2025. This investment values the company at $134 billion, representing a significant 34% increase from its $100 billion valuation reached only three months prior in September 2025. The funding round was led by Insight Partners, Fidelity Management & Research Company, and J.P. Morgan Asset Management, with participation from a broad group of investors including Andreessen Horowitz, BlackRock, Blackstone, Coatue, GIC, MGX, NEA, and others.

Databricks is a unified, cloud-based data and AI platform that simplifies big data processing and analytics by combining data warehousing and data lakes into a single “lakehouse” architecture.

Beyond product development, the funds will support future AI-related acquisitions, deep AI research, and the hiring of thousands of new employees across international markets in Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Additionally, a portion of the investment will be used to provide liquidity for current and former employees.
