Meta announced a new partnership with ElevenLabs – the leader in advanced AI voice synthesis and multilingual dubbing.
The collaboration will integrate ElevenLabs’ across Meta’s platforms, beginning with the multilingual localization of Instagram Reels. This allows creators to instantly translate and dub their short-form videos into dozens of languages while preserving the original speaker’s authentic voice, tone, and style, accelerating global content reach and monetization.
Beyond social media, the partnership extends to the Metaverse. ElevenLabs’ expressive AI voices and sound generation tools will be deployed in Meta Horizon Worlds to enhance immersion, allowing creators to design more lifelike characters and build richer, dynamic audio experiences in virtual environments.
The recent acquisition of the AI startup Limitless and a partnership with ElevenLabs suggests a move to integrate new conversational and audio-data capture technology into some devices, raising new concerns about the ethics of using everyday dialogue for training purposes.
