Decade of Data and AI Innovation: Reflections on 10th Data Innovation Summit! When we started the first Data Innovation Summit 10 years ago, the data and AI landscape was nothing like it is today. Back then, data science was still finding its feet in many organizations, AI was mostly a buzzword, and most companies were just beginning to grasp the power of their data. Here we are today, wrapping up the 10th edition of what has grown into the go-to event for data, analytics, and AI professionals around the world! This edition was a celebration of how far we’ve come as a community, as an industry, and as individuals passionate about using AI and data for good, connecting experts and practitioners across regions, including MEA, EU, APAC, and ANZ.
5 Bold AI & Data Predictions for 2025/2026: Insights from DIS25 Experts! What does the future hold for AI and data? AI has become part of everyday life. By 2026, the pace of technological change will only accelerate. Will we see fully autonomous AI? Self-sustaining data driving real-time decisions? AI transforming from tool to creator, blurring human-machine creativity?
Vibe Coding + AI: The Future of App Creation. When most people think of a software developer, they picture someone staring at a screen full of code. But things are starting to change when it comes to building apps. Thanks to new AI tools and something called ‘vibe coding,’ building apps is becoming something anyone can do, as long as they’ve got an idea and a bit of imagination. Vibe coding is about making app building feel easy. Instead of writing lines of code, you use everyday language, visuals, and a bit of help from AI to bring your ideas to life.
Agentic AI: Are We Racing Toward a Future We Can’t Control? For a long time, many of us have thought of AI as a powerful assistant. AI helps filter spam, recommend what movie we can watch next, and speed up our search results. But what happens when AI stops waiting for our commands and starts acting on its own? Welcome to the age of agentic AI, where machines don’t just follow instructions, they take charge. These systems think, make their own decisions, and act without waiting for us. It sounds exciting, right? But also a little unsettling. Now’s a good time to stop and think: how much control are we ready to hand over?
Meta vs. Google: The Battle for AI Dominance with Gemini and Llama. This is a make-or-break time for AI. Remember the early days of the internet when things were new, exciting, and a little unknown? Before smartphones were everywhere, we were just starting to imagine what technology is capable of. More and more businesses are jumping into AI and building their models. The race to shape the future of technology is heating up fast. At the heart of this tech race, two big companies are going up against each other: Meta and Google. It’s like a big match, with each side trying harder to win. So what are they betting on?
News, Articles, and Reports

OpenAI shared some exciting news—they created two new AI models called o3 and o4-mini! In the past, most AI tools just answered questions or followed instructions. But these models are different. They’re part of a new kind of AI that OpenAI calls “agentic AI.” AI can now do more independently: make decisions, use tools, and think through complex tasks across text, images, and more. Instead of acting like an assistant, this AI works more like a teammate.
Gemini 2.5 Pro 05-06 Faces Backlash from Power Users Over Declining Precision and Performance. In AI development, where milliseconds matter and precision isn’t optional, Google’s May 6 release of Gemini 2.5 Pro has landed with a resounding thud among its most discerning users: professional coders, data analysts, and technical researchers. Just 24 hours after launch, forums and developer channels lit up with discontent. From “crippling lag” to “instructional amnesia,” early adopters have sounded alarms over what they view as a significant regression masked behind a veil of surface-level politeness and processing animations.
AI hallucinations are getting worse – and they’re here to stay. AI chatbots from tech companies such as OpenAI and Google have been getting reasoning upgrades over the past months to make them better at giving us answers we can trust, but recent testing suggests they are sometimes doing worse than previous models. The errors made by chatbots, known as “hallucinations,” have been a problem from the start, and it is becoming clear we may never get rid of them. Hallucination is a blanket term for certain kinds of mistakes made by the large language models (LLMs) that power systems like OpenAI’s ChatGPT or Google’s Gemini.
New AI agent that browses the web and fills in forms without you touching your mouse. Hugging Face has introduced its own take on the growing number of semi-independent AI agents that can run online errands for people. The new and free (if limited) Open Computer Agent is like having a personal assistant living inside your web browser. Part of the company’s ongoing “smolagents” initiative, the Open Computer Agent can engage with websites and apps like you would, handling an invisible mouse and keyboard to complete requests. The AI can open a browser, type things into forms, click buttons, and more. Ask it to find directions, and it’ll go to Google Maps, enter the origin and destination, and show you the route like a dutiful digital chauffeur.
Apple Teams Up With Anthropic to Build AI-Powered Coding Platform, Marking Major Shift in Development Strategy. Apple has formed a partnership with AI powerhouse Anthropic to integrate the Claude Sonnet model into a revamped version of Xcode, Apple’s programming environment. This move comes after Apple’s internal AI coding assistant, Swift Assist, struggled with performance issues and accuracy problems. Rather than continuing to go it alone, Apple has embraced external expertise in what analysts describe as both a pragmatic necessity and a calculated strategic gambit. “This isn’t just about catching up in AI—it’s about reimagining how Apple positions itself in the developer toolchain,” said a veteran technology strategist. “They’re essentially placing a multi-layered bet that could pay dividends across hardware, services, and ecosystem stickiness.”
DeepSeek Releases 671B AI Model DeepSeek-Prover-V2 for Solving Formal Math Proofs and Launches New Benchmark Dataset. On April 30, 2025, DeepSeek released a model that’s making waves in a niche, yet foundationally important corner of AI: formal mathematical reasoning. DeepSeek has been doubling down on a less headline-friendly but strategically critical area—automated theorem proving. DeepSeek-Prover-V2, their latest open-weight release, might not turn heads on social media, but its implications ripple through academia, engineering, and future AGI systems. With a 671B-parameter backbone and deep integration with Lean 4 formal proofs, it does more than solve math problems—it formalizes mathematical truth in code.
