3 E Network Designates Mikkeli AI Data Center Project as “Nordic Compute Gateway”

IT service management company – 3 E Network Technology Group Limited has designated its Mikkeli, Finland, project as the “Nordic Compute Gateway,” a step in its development of a global artificial intelligence infrastructure. This follows the signing of a 30-year land lease for a 101,071-square-meter site in the Pellosniemi industrial area. The facility is being developed as a greenfield, AI-native node intended to support the computing and thermal requirements of next-generation GPU clusters.

The Mikkeli site was strategically selected to leverage Finland’s reliable, low-carbon power grid, which utilizes nuclear, hydroelectric, and wind energy, as well as the region’s natural “free cooling” climate to improve the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for AI workloads. The company has begun procurement using a modular assembly approach involving prefabricated construction and hybrid cooling systems. Furthermore, the company has introduced its 3 E Intellisight™ Smart Operations Platform, which utilizes 3D digital twin technology for the management of high-density computing clusters. The project is designed to serve as an orchestration hub within a global network to support cross-regional AI tasks.
