From defining global AI roadmaps with the C-suite to getting hands-on with Traton brands, Bei is entirely focused on a massive challenge: scaling AI across a global organization. Together with her team, she is passionate about delivering end-to-end data and AI products that create tangible business value.
Here is her take on how an 80-day project sparked her interest in data and why we should look at AI as a smart friend.
Hyperight.com: What’s the best way to describe your job to someone outside tech?
Bei Qiu: We turn information to insights for better decisions. We embed AI in business and automate processes to make work more efficient and do more with less.
Hyperight.com: What originally sparked your interest in AI/data, and what keeps you inspired today?
Bei Qiu: I was nominated to a young talent program at Scania a couple of years ago, when we had the chance to work directly with our Ex-board and got the mandate to deliver a data-driven project in just 80 days and put it into usage. I was fascinated by how much and how fast one can turn data into facts and actions, which planted a seed and stubborn idea in me: I want to work with data and AI!
Hyperight.com: What is one challenge you’re trying to solve, and why does it matter?
Bei Qiu: To scale AI globally. It’s not that hard to make successful stories in a couple of business cases or some processes, but to upskill everyone in a global organization to improve personal efficiency by AI; and even more, to enable non-tech users to elevate business performances by using AI is a transformation we are dealing with.

Bei Qiu: ChatGPT 😀
Hyperight.com: What trend in data or AI do you think will shape the Nordic region the most?
Bei Qiu: It’s the everyday AI. I think regardless which branch you are in, it’s inevitable that you will have AI naturally being a part of your work and life. Instead of being afraid that AI will make humans redundant, rather embrace it, make the use of it, do more with less, do it smarter and quicker. Use AI as a smart friend, who doesn’t want to have one?
Hyperight.com: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to others entering the data and AI field?
Bei Qiu: Be curious and be quick. In the AI field, if you are not updated, you are obsolete.
