The American technology company Microsoft and the French multinational advertising and public relations company Publicis Groupe have announced an expansion of their long-term strategic partnership to develop a full-stack marketing solution centered on agentic AI. Ten years after the launch of the AI platform Marcel, the two companies are integrating Microsoft’s cloud and AI infrastructure with Publicis Sapient’s digital services and Epsilon’s identity data. According to the announcement, the collaboration is designed to replace fragmented AI tools with a unified system. Under this framework, AI agents are intended to manage tasks such as identifying customer segments, personalizing content, and adjusting campaign spending in real time, operating within parameters established by marketing teams.
As part of the agreement, Publicis has designated Microsoft Azure as a preferred cloud provider and plans to roll out Microsoft 365 Copilot to its global workforce of more than 114,000 employees. Additionally, Publicis will serve as Microsoft’s global media agency of record, using Azure to connect audience signals with performance data. The partnership aims to incorporate agentic AI into marketing workflows with the goal of automating repetitive tasks, potentially allowing staff to focus on strategy and innovation.
The collaboration seeks to integrate the technology and data assets of both companies to create a unified system for business applications.
