Micron Technology, American multinational semiconductor company and Anthropic, American AI company, have announced a comprehensive strategic agreement aimed at scaling next-generation AI infrastructure. The collaboration bridges hardware and frontier AI software, covering memory and storage architecture design, a multi-year supply agreement, and a strategic investment by Micron in Anthropic’s Series H funding round. Additionally in the announcement shared by Micron, it stated that it has begun deploying Anthropic’s Claude models across its own engineering, manufacturing, and enterprise operations to accelerate coding and drive productivity gains.
The partnership, as stated in the announcement, focuses on optimizing Micron’s portfolio of high-bandwidth memory (HBM), DRAM, and solid-state drives (SSDs) for Anthropic’s specific AI training and inference workloads. By analyzing how memory and storage subsystems perform across the infrastructure stack, the two companies aim to improve energy efficiency and token economics for future AI models. Under the supply agreement, Micron will provide the necessary data center hardware to secure and support Anthropic’s long-term compute strategy as global demand for its Claude models continues to grow.
