A session on Dremio’s Federation Layer at the Data Innovation Summit 2024! In this talk, Naveen Jose and Paul Zubin Thomas from Scania speak on how Dremio’s Federation Layer helps power Scania’s data mesh. Due to the decentralized structure of Scania, different business units have adopted different cloud providers as part of their transition to the cloud. In conjunction with this, the demand for analytical data continues to grow. In order to enable cross domain/cloud analytics Scania adopted a Datamesh strategy starting in 2022. Dremio’s federated query engine alongside Witboost are playing a crucial role in enabling self service data products whilst ensuring efficient computational governance.
