In this week’s spotlight, we feature Goran Cvetanovski – Founder & CEO of Hyperight AB and creator of the Data Innovation Summit (DIS), one of the largest and most influential data and AI gatherings in the Nordics and globally. Goran spends most of his days connecting people, ideas, and opportunities across the data and AI ecosystem. Whether he’s shaping Hyperight’s events, building new products, or helping teams and practitioners navigate where the industry is heading, he plays a key role in driving the community forward.
Hyperight.com: What’s the best way to describe your job to someone outside tech?
Goran Cvetanovski: I bring people together to learn from each other. Think of it as hosting a very big, very curious conversation about how data and AI can actually make work and life better.
Hyperight.com: What originally sparked your interest in AI/data, and what keeps you inspired today?
Goran Cvetanovski:
I entered the field almost by accident. I was asked to build a community around Decision Support and BI, and that community kept expanding into Business Analytics, Customer Analytics, Data Science, Machine Learning, and now AI. What keeps me inspired is watching how each new wave transforms not only the technology but the people and organisations behind it.
Hyperight.com: What is one challenge you’re trying to solve, and why does it matter?
Goran Cvetanovski:
I’m focused on helping companies accelerate their data and AI transformation by shifting from technology-first thinking to business-first innovation. It matters because data and AI only create real impact when they solve meaningful business or societal problems, not when they exist as standalone technical projects.
Hyperight.com: A tool you can’t live without (tech or not)?
Goran Cvetanovski:
Phone, microphone, and notebook. All ideas start there before they become events, products, or something completely unexpected.
Hyperight.com: What trend in data or AI do you think will shape the Nordic region the most?
Goran Cvetanovski:
Agentic AI combined with strong governance. The Nordics are uniquely positioned to build useful, trusted, and scalable AI systems that will define the next decade.
Hyperight.com: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to others entering the data and AI field?
Goran Cvetanovski:
Stay curious, stay practical, and stay close to real problems. Technology moves fast, but understanding people, processes, and value never goes out of style.
