Alibaba Cloud (also known as Aliyun, a cloud computing company, subsidiary of Alibaba Group) announced a global infrastructure expansion plan, committing to establish its first cloud regions in Türkiye, Finland, and the Netherlands over the next 12 months. The company also plans to expand its existing data center capacity in Malaysia, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, France, and Hong Kong.
The company currently operates 107 availability zones across 31 regions worldwide. According to Dr. Feifei Li, Chief Technology Officer and President of International Business at Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, as reported by Alibaba Cloud’s press room, the expansion aims to increase global computing capacity, reduce latency, and bring localized cloud and AI services closer to international clients as enterprise AI transitions into real-world deployment.
The company also detailed ongoing collaborations with global partners leveraging its AI and cloud stack.
