Danske Bank, Nordic banking company, has announced a new service allowing business customers to connect their preferred AI solutions, such as ChatGPT or Claude, directly to their banking data. The initiative makes Danske Bank the first financial institution in the Nordic region to enable banking operations through agentic AI solutions.
According to their announcement, the integration utilizes a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, functioning as a bridge between a customer’s AI agent and Danske Bank’s Premium APIs. Through simple prompts, business users can access real-time financial information and perform tasks such as reviewing account balances, analyzing transactions, building cash-flow forecasts, and creating customized financial views without leaving their existing tools or platforms.
The bank stated that the connection operates through its existing secure and authenticated API infrastructure, requiring standard onboarding, credentials, and certificates to access data. By simplifying access to API documentation and mock data testing, the service aims to reduce the technical integration barrier for non-technical users looking to streamline their daily financial management.
