Apple confirmed that it is licensing Google’s Gemini 3 models to overhaul Siri. The deal marks a significant pivot for Apple as it integrates external AI to accelerate the development of its “next-generation” foundation models.
Apple stated that it has performed a rigorous evaluation and they determined that Google’s AI provides the most capable infrastructure to unlock the long-awaited, personalized version of Siri, and it is set to be released later in 2026.
Despite the partnership, in its statement Apple reaffirmed its commitment to data security. Apple Intelligence will continue to operate via Private Cloud Compute and on-device processing, ensuring that user data remains isolated and protected under Apple’s strict privacy standards.
This deal has sparked Alphabet Inc., the parent company of Google, to officially become the fourth company in history to reach a $4 trillion market valuation, joining the exclusive ranks of Nvidia, Microsoft, and Apple.
